Meet Dr. Ilse Longerich

Dr. Longerich attended University of California Santa Barbara where she earned her bachelors degree in Biological Sciences with high honors. She traveled across the country to Philadelphia to obtain her dental degree from Temple University School of Dentistry as an Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship recipient. After graduating, she commissioned as a dental officer in the US Army and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Following residency, Dr. Longerich practiced as a general dentist at Fort Hood, Texas where she had the honor of serving and taking care of the dental health of our nation’s soldiers. Her time in the Army allowed her unique professional experiences in digital and veterinary dentistry as well as training in combat casualty care. She enjoyed all aspects of general dentistry from periodontal surgery to CADCAM, but especially loved root canal therapy. At the conclusion of her active-duty service, Dr. Longerich returned to the civilian sector to follow her passion for endodontics. She completed her specialty residency at University of Louisville where she received a Certificate in Endodontics and a Master of Science in Dentistry. Dr. Longerich’s experience as a general dentist gives her a unique understanding of how to best serve her referring dentists and provide compassionate care to their patients.

Dr. Longerich practiced endodontics in Nashville, Tennessee before moving to Chattanooga and is excited to settle down and call our beautiful city her permanent home. She strives for excellence in her field and is dedicated to providing a positive experience with optimal results for you and your patients.

When she doesn’t have her head in the microscope, Dr. Longerich enjoys spending time outdoors, relaxing with her family, and riding her horse.  

She's a member of the American Association of Endodontists, American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association, and Chattanooga Area Dental Society.
